Impactful Ways to Celebrate Women’s History Month

Impactful Ways to Celebrate Women’s History Month

What does being a woman mean? How do we celebrate womanhood?

Being a woman does not and should not stick to one linear model or aesthetic – womanhood is celebrated because it looks so different to everybody. This Women’s History Month, we celebrate women of color, disabled women, trans women, women who are sex workers, neurodivergent women, girl bosses, hustlers, marginalized women, and women who are survivors of assault, abuse, and violence.

In support of one of our favorite times of the year, we are bringing to you three ways you can celebrate Women’s History Month with intention! Make sure to check out our Instagram at @wetforher for awesome resources on queer sex, lifestyle, and culture.

Ways to Celebrate Women’s History Month

1. Connect with your community of women

A great way to celebrate Women’s History Month is to connect with your own community. What does connecting with the feminine look like to you? This can look like hosting a women’s group or even planning an event centered on feminine energy. I like to host gatherings with women, trans femme and gender non-conforming femmes which focuses on a specific topic or theme. Sharing circles, especially in a spiritual and open-minded setting, have been pretty great settings for connecting with feminine energies in a safe and vulnerable space that is still grounded and connecting.

You can also choose to make it more philanthropic by hosting an event centered on a specific social cause or issue, such as domestic violence, IPV (Intimate Partner Violence), or assisting houseless women. Panel events are a great way to hold discussions with your community in a transparent and impactful way while centering and honoring the voices and experiences of those who have personally been affected by these issues. This can then lead to other great opportunities to network and connect with organizations and groups in your community who are also advancing the rights and lives of women.

Sharing in community with women and feminine presenting energy can also mean having a night in with your friends! Either way, it is meant to help foster connection and bring you closer to the feminine energies in your community.

2. Volunteer with an organization

Volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with your community while also providing help in the most impactful way. I personally believe this is the most authentic way to connect with your community. It’s important to choose an organization whose cause you personally resonate with. And of course, you can always choose to donate if you do not have time to volunteer. Stay tuned for our list of progressive and inclusive women-centered organizations to support we’ll be releasing late this month!

3. Share awareness for Women’s History Month on social media

Women’s History Month is meant to empower and educate people on the impact women have had on our society, so make sure to share on social media! This can include sharing a quote, honoring a woman you admire, or even implementing something into your social media posts that can help bring engagement from your followers if you’re a brand or a company!
